Critical Incidents
Adams, Ferrone and Ferrone and Mark Peacock Esq. are PORAC panel and FOP panel attorneys for critical incidents (officer involved shootings). Our firm has seven attorneys and one labor representative to quickly respond to an incident. After a shooting has occurred, there will be an internal affairs investigation and possibly a criminal investigation. We believe the officer should never waive the Miranda rights without consulting an attorney first. The officer may be required to provide a public safety statement after a shooting and will need thorough representation when faced with possible internal affairs and criminal investigations. We recommend to officers that they not play into the hands of cooperating with investigators until all the facts and possible legal consequences are known and understood.
