Workers' Compensation
Adams, Ferrone & Ferrone and Mark Peacock Esq aggressively represent public safety for Injury On Duty (IOD) claims. In 2004, the workers compensation system underwent dramatic changes that complicated the steps by which officers process claims and quickly receive benefits. It is very advantageous for an injured safety officer to receive competent guidance through the process. We will actively litigate injury claims, including the presumptions, to ensure an officer can recover his or her due (4850) benefits, permanent disability percentages and future medical care.
Our firm has become an advocate for the cause. We have assisted in legislation exempting public safety from the two-year rule on temporary disability. Our firm defeated one city’s attempt to reduce 4850 benefits. More recently, we are in the process of negotiating a supplemental dispute resolution system outside workers comp that will quickly resolve the disputed issues. Our firm also provides training on the new laws and assists PORAC and other public safety agencies.
